AT LABOR NOTES
On June 11, the day before the Labor Notes Conference 2026 begins, the Federal Unionists Network is bringing together workers from across agencies and locals for a national FUN Summit.
This is more than a meeting: It’s where we come together to assess the state of the federal labor movement, align our strategy, and make decisions about the future of our Network.
Whether you’re already registered for the Labor Notes Conference 2026 or currently on the waitlist, we want you with us at the FUN Summit on June 11.
We encourage you to have your union cover the cost of attending. If that’s not possible, we’re actively raising funds to support those who need financial assistance—just indicate your needs in the RSVP form.
If you’re serious about building a fighting federal labor movement, this is where you need to be. Don’t miss this chance to plug in, get organized, and be part of shaping what comes next!

WHY ATTEND OUR SUMMIT AND THE LABOR NOTES CONFERENCE?
The Labor Notes Conference 2026 has long been a critical space for unionists committed to rank-and-file power, collective action, and democracy in our movement. From June 12–14 in Chicago, thousands of workers will come together to assess this moment, align strategy, and take coordinated action—especially as federal workers face unprecedented attacks on our jobs, unions, and ability to serve the public.
We expect this to be the largest gathering of FUN leaders yet, and we’re kicking it off with a dedicated FUN Summit on Thursday, June 11 starting at 2 PM central .
This is where federal unionists will come together to make key organizational and strategic decisions about the future of our Network and how we fight back.
From there, we’ll head into Labor Notes together—ready to sharpen our skills, deepen our organizing, and build the collective power we need to win.
What We’ll DO at our FUN Summit
Connect with federal unionists from across the country
Build strategy to fight back and win.
Help shape the direction of FUN
Define membership in FUN: establish who membership includes and how people participate in the Network.
Ratify FUN’s Points of Unity: align around shared values, principles, and direction.
Select a planning committee: choose a committee to organize a national FUN convention for late 2026 or early 2027.
If you’re serious about organizing and building power, this is where you need to be.

“
There is no credible way to eliminate tens of thousands of health care jobs at VHA—especially front-line clinical roles—without harming veterans.
We are calling on VHA leadership and federal officials to put veterans first by fully funding and staffing VHA and respecting the rights of the workers who make this care possible.”
— Mark Smith, occupational therapist, President of National Federation of Federal Employees Local 1, representing healthcare workers at VHA.
