Erika is a seasoned labor and community organizer with over a decade of experience building worker power, developing leaders, and advancing campaigns across the Gulf South. She has led organizing efforts with SEIU and AFT, supporting educators and workers through campaigns that connect workplace issues to community needs and long-term sustainability.
Erika brings a strong leadership development lens to her work and attributes her success to building member-driven structures and creating systems that support accountability, participation, and growth. Her organizing journey began in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, where she advocated for communities that were left out of recovery efforts and demanded accountability from public institutions.
She brings a background in social work to her organizing practice, grounding her work in relationship-building and trauma-informed leadership. Erika is also a proud mother of two daughters, and her work is driven by a vision of communities where families, workers, and future generations can thrive.
